1st Week of Americorps Training

Hi guys, Today marks the 1st week anniversary of my arrival to the Americorps NCCC campus in Sacremento, California. From day 1 I felt like I belonged and that hasnt changed a bit. I feel so comfortable here, like I can actually be myself and people accept me. I have met a lot of great people this week and made a lot of friends. My team, silver 3, is without a doubt the perfect team for me. The people on that team are great, willing to work, friendly and we just all have a bond that keeps growing each day. It is going to be a great 10 months working with them, we are going to have tons of laughs and great memories. As for Sacremento itself, it is beautiful down here, its hot and sunny everyday, I dont miss the New Hampshire weather at all and the city itself is amazingly clean and beautiful. But for the 1st week we have had a lot of training and I mean a lot. Our typical day goes like this, wake up around 5 am and dont usually get done until 5 pm, so a good 12 hour day...we have physical training for an hour, multiple meetings and every now and then we will do some interactive stuff like this week our team went to this adbandoned mall for a reinactment of a natural disaster. I had to play dead for 4 hours and it was a challenge because if you know me you know that I can't stay still for long.  But I did it and it was a great experience. And next week we are going to this camp for 3 days to do team building exercises which I am really excited for. Our team is going to bond even more and we are going ot have a good time. So all in all Americorps NCCC has been everything I expected and more. I'm having the time of my life and I am honored to have this experience. I can't wait to tell you all about my upcoming adventures, as for now thats it, so stay tuned for more! I will have plenty of stories to tell you
